If you Haven’t seen it already… Konova Slider

Posted by Dillan Stockham

This is the slider I rely on the Konova  for all my jobs that require the sliding movement. The bearings need to be tightened every once and a while after excessive use, but I find that the smooth, solid and light weight nature of this slider makes it far worth the need to recalibrate every once and while.

Best bang for the buck tri-pod

Posted by Dillan Stockham

David and Sanford Provista Tripod with FM18 fluid head. These are the tripods I use and have used for the last 3 years. They run between $190-200 usually and have come with a floor dolly as a free gift. The fluid head is very smooth and great for both small and large cameras. The legs are quick release for fast setup, which is what I prefer over the twist-tighten legs.

My Favorite Budget Flash

Posted by Dillan Stockham

The RPS Lighting Basic TTL camera flash is a great quality flash for the price. The fact the it both tilts, and swivels, and for Canon is only $55 at B&H is a big deal when compared to the $300+ OEM Flashes. I've used this flash for the last year and it has done me very good. The flash is fully automatic and for those who aren't interested in using manual flash this is great.

New Canon 24-70 f/2.8 USM ii – 24mm f/2.8 IS USM – 28mm f/2.8 IS USM

Posted by Dillan Stockham

Canon 24-70 f/2.8 USM ii

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Zoom LensThis redesigned EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Zoom Lens from Canon ups the ante for optical performance for a professional standard zoom lens. It has one Super UD lens element and two UD lens elements that minimize chromatic aberration in the periphery at wide-angle, as well as reducing color blurring around the edges of the subject. In addition, two types of aspherical lenses are combined to help reduce spherical aberration over the entire image area, as well as through the full zoom range. Optimized lens coatings help ensure exceptional color balance while minimizing ghosting.

Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM Autofocus LensCanon's EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM Autofocus Lens is a compact wide-angle 24mm lens that gives you superb image quality and smooth, silent operation. It's equipped with Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer that provides up to 4 stops of shake correction--ideal for working in low light. 28mm f/2.8 IS USM

Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM LensCanon's EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens is an update to a popular focal length, often the only wide-angle lens carried by a photographer. It's a terrific travel lens that gives you great flexibility, useful for everything from landscapes to interiors. A 74° angle of coverage will let you capture beautiful portraits and candids as well. You can focus down to 9" for a dramatic, unusual perspective. Optical Image Stabilizer technology allows you to shoot at shutter speeds as much as 4 stops slower than usual, giving you a tremendous edge in low-light photography.
